Summer Teller (Orange County Branches)

Department: Retail & Business Services
Location: Orange County, NY

Rhinebeck Bank is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Summer Teller to join our team. As a Bank Teller, you will be the face of the bank, providing exceptional customer service while handling daily transactions like deposits, withdrawals, and check cashing. You will also help ensure that our bank complies with corporate, regulatory, and audit guidelines. A major component of the role will be proactively participating in the sales referral process, connecting clients to the right financial solutions, and building long-lasting relationships.

Position Type: Seasonal (20-40 hours/week)

Salary: $18/hour

Branch Hours:

  • Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM
    Preferred Start Date: May
    Work Duration: Through June, July & August, with opportunities to return during holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process deposits and withdrawals to customer accounts
  • Process loan and mortgage payments
  • Sell and redeem savings bonds and traveler’s checks
  • Reconcile and prove teller drawers
  • Assist with Branch proof and maintain/settle ATMs
  • Answer customer inquiries and assist with account-related questions
  • Direct customers to appropriate bank personnel when needed
  • Assist in training new team members
  • Promote bank products and services to drive new business

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Cash handling experience preferred
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask efficiently
  • Team player with a positive attitude
